Stripped for Parts: American Journalism on the Brink tells the story of a secretive hedge fund that is plundering America’s newspapers and the journalists who are fighting back. Investigative reporter Julie Reynolds, Denver Post editorialist Chuck Plunkett and others go up against the faceless Alden Global Capital in a fight to save and rebuild local journalism across America. Director Rick Goldsmith explores who will control the future of America’s news ecosystem: hedge funds concerned only with profit, or those who see journalism as a public service essential to a healthy democracy.
The Jonathan Logan Family Foundation provided early support for Stripped for Parts, which exposes the threats faced by the American journalism ecosystem.
