Documentary film American Reckoning investigates the unsolved 1967 murder of Warlest Jackson, Sr., a local NAACP leader in Natchez, Mississippi. Filmmakers Brad Lichtenstein and Yoruba Richen follow the Jackson family’s search for answers using rarely seen footage and groundbreaking journalism. American Reckoning reveals an untold story of the civil rights movement and Black resistance.
The Jonathan Logan Family Foundation supported the production of this important film, which is part of FRONTLINE’s Un(re)solved initiative, telling the stories of more than 150 victims of civil rights era killings for whom there has been no justice. The film premiered on FRONTLINE in February 2022 and is available to stream here.
