The Berkeley Film Foundation nurtures, sustains and preserves the local film community in East Bay cities including Berkeley, Emeryville, El Cerrito, Albany, Richmond and Oakland. Through grants for the production, post-production and distribution of films, the Berkeley Film Foundation supports filmmakers directly and works to attract the next generation of creators. With support from the Jonathan Logan Family Foundation, the Berkeley Film Foundation launched the annual Logan Elevate Grant in 2020, which provides funding to an emerging filmmaker.
The Logan Elevate Grant recipients are:
Belly of the World by April September (2025)
Becoming Us by Eli Hiller (2024)
Finding Má by Thanh Tran (2023)
The Long Rescue by Jennifer Huang (2022)
A Thousand Pines by Sebastián Diáz Aguirre (2021)
Oaklead by Alex Bledsoe (2020)
